Description

The Venn 360 C SL is a 36mm carbon road wheelset for riding that is decided on the climbs. It shares its build with our 500 C SL: 20 carbon aero blade spokes at the front and 24 at the rear, a 36-tooth ratchet hub and premium S&S ceramic bearings, for a system weight of 1120g. The 22.5mm internal rim suits 25mm to 30mm tires, and the shallow profile keeps the bike calm in gusts and quick to change direction. The rims carry no clear coat, in gloss, matte or 25k filament wound. Each wheelset is built to order.

Carbon Care

A crash should not cost you a whole wheelset. If you damage a Venn wheel in a crash within 5 years of buying it, Carbon Care replaces the damaged wheel at 40% off its list price (the recommended retail price, not the price you paid).

  • Covers accidental crash and impact damage. Manufacturing defects are separate and are always repaired or replaced free under the warranty.
  • 40% off the list price (recommended retail price) of the damaged wheel, front or rear, not off the price you paid. If both are damaged, the discount applies to the full wheelset.
  • Available to the original owner for 5 years from the purchase date.
  • To claim, send proof of purchase and photos of the damage. One claim per incident.
  • Non-transferable.

01

A CLIMBER'S DEPTH

At 36mm the rim keeps its weight low and gives a crosswind little to push against, while still cutting through the air better than a shallow box rim. It is the depth for long climbs, fast descents and days when the forecast says wind. The 28mm external width carries a 25mm to 28mm tire cleanly, and the 22.5mm internal bed gives it a round, well-supported shape at road pressures.

02

TWENTY FRONT, TWENTY-FOUR REAR

A rear wheel has a harder job than a front one. It carries more of the rider, absorbs every watt of drive torque through the freehub, and takes the dish asymmetry that a cassette forces on it. So the 360 C SL is laced accordingly: 20 carbon aero blade spokes at the front, where the work is lighter, and 24 at the rear, where it is not. Spreading drive torque across 24 spokes means no single spoke sees a large share of it, and that is what keeps a wheel in tune when the loads are high and repeat every pedal stroke.

03

PREMIUM COMPONENTS

The 36-tooth ratchet hub engages across the full tooth face rather than through a pair of pawls, so power goes in the moment you load the pedals and keeps going in under torque. Inside it sit premium S&S ceramic bearings, chosen for low drag and long service life rather than for a spec-sheet line. The wheelset is fully tubeless-compatible and ships with tubeless tape for either traditional clincher or modern tubeless setups.

Rim Profile

The 360 TCD SL rim is 36mm deep and weighs about 345g, made with our 1k filament winding process. Its 28mm external and 22.5mm internal widths give a 25mm to 30mm tire a smooth transition from tire to rim and enough support to run it at comfortable pressures.

Carbon Blade Spoke Technology

All 44 spokes, 20 front and 24 rear, are carbon aero blades. Carbon fibre's near-zero elongation under load means the spoke does not stretch and hand energy back on the next pedal stroke, so power arrives at the rim as forward motion rather than as wind-up. The bladed profile presents a narrow edge to the airflow, which matters more than most riders expect: spokes travel through the air far faster than the bike does, and the top of the wheel is moving at twice road speed.

Uncoated Finish, Your Choice

The 360 C SL carries no clear coat, whichever surface you choose: gloss, matte, or the 25k filament-wound pattern. Leaving the coating off keeps weight off the rim perimeter, where it costs the most in rotational inertia, and it leaves the quality of the underlying carbon structure on open display with nowhere to hide. Gloss and matte weigh the same; the 25k filament-wound surface adds 25 g per rim. All three cost the same.

Questions riders ask

What kind of rider is the Venn 360 C SL for?

Riders whose rides are decided on the climbs, who ride in the mountains or in windy country, and who want a light carbon wheelset that stays true through a season. The build is the same as our 500 C SL: 20 front / 24 rear carbon aero blade spokes and S&S ceramic bearings. Only the rim is shallower.

How much does the Venn 360 C SL weigh?

1120g +/- 30g for the pair, calculated from its parts: two 360 TCD SL rims of about 345g each, with the hubs, spokes and lacing of the 500 C SL.

Why 20 spokes at the front and 24 at the rear?

Because the two wheels do different amounts of work. The front wheel steers and carries less of the rider, so 20 carbon aero blade spokes is a sound number for it and saves weight where it can be saved. The rear wheel takes drive torque, carries more weight, and is dished around the cassette, so it gets 24. Spreading that torque across 24 spokes lowers the peak load on any one of them, which is what keeps the wheel true over a long season.

How does the 360 C SL compare with the 500 C SL?

They share the hubs, the carbon aero blade spokes, the 20 / 24 lacing and the S&S ceramic bearings. The difference is the rim: 36mm deep with a 22.5mm internal width, against 50mm and 25mm. Both weigh 1120g. Choose the 360 C SL for climbing and windy days, and the 500 C SL for speed on flat and rolling roads.

Which freehub options are available for the 360 C SL?

Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, and Campagnolo N3W freehub bodies are available, covering all major 11- and 12-speed road drivetrains. Choose your freehub at checkout.

Are the 360 C SL wheels tubeless-ready?

Yes. The 360 C SL is tubeless-ready and ships with tubeless tape and valves included. The 22.5mm internal width suits 25mm to 30mm tubeless road tires.

How long does delivery take?

Each 360 C SL is built to order with your choice of finish and freehub. Custom builds typically take 20 to 35 days, and you receive a tracking number when your wheels ship. Shipping is free worldwide.
