Description

The Venn 470 TCC SL is a 47mm carbon wheelset for rim brake road bikes. The all-rounder: fast on the flat and stable in crosswinds. Its 1k filament wound rims carry a 3D brake track for braking you can trust in the wet, and the 21mm internal, 28mm external width suits today's 25mm to 28mm road tires. 20 front and 24 rear Pillar 1423 aero steel spokes are laced to Venn RBH-01 hubs with a 36-tooth ratchet, 5 x 100 / 5 x 130mm quick release and a Shimano HG 11-speed freehub, for a system weight of 1460g. The rims carry no clear coat, in gloss, matte or 25k filament wound, with silver Venn Hanko decals, the original black Venn logo or none. Each wheelset is built to order.

  • Covers accidental crash and impact damage. Manufacturing defects are separate and are always repaired or replaced free under the warranty.
  • 40% off the list price (recommended retail price) of the damaged wheel, front or rear, not off the price you paid. If both are damaged, the discount applies to the full wheelset.
  • Available to the original owner for 5 years from the purchase date.

A 3D BRAKE TRACK

The textured brake track gives the pad more to grip when the road is wet, so the carbon rim brakes with confidence in the rain as well as in the dry. Brake pads for the track are in the box.

1K FILAMENT WOUND

Each carbon tape carries exactly 1,000 fibres. The narrow tape puts every fibre where it is needed and gives a smooth, well-compacted laminate with an uncoated Class-A finish: no clear coat to hide anything. 1k filament winding is the fifth generation of the process Venn started in 2015.

STEEL SPOKES, VENN RBH-01 HUBS

20 Pillar 1423 aero spokes at the front and 24 at the rear, laced to Venn RBH-01 hubs with a 36-tooth ratchet. Any shop can true or replace a steel spoke, anywhere, and a spare of each length is included. The hubs take 5 x 100 / 5 x 130mm quick release skewers and a Shimano HG 11-speed cassette.

Uncoated Finish, Your Choice

The 470 TCC SL carries no clear coat, whichever surface you choose: gloss, matte, or the 25k filament-wound pattern. Gloss and matte weigh the same; the 25k filament-wound surface adds 25 g per rim. All three cost the same. The decals are your choice too, at the same price: silver Venn Hanko, the original black Venn logo, or none for plain carbon.
