Our latest evolution in carbon manufacturing uses an ultra-precise 1k winding process - meaning each tape contains exactly 1,000 carbon fibers. While our 4th generation process already led the industry in precision, this new narrower tape allows for even more precise fiber placement and creates an exceptionally smooth, void-free structure.

Think of it like building with LEGO® - using smaller bricks allows you to create a more detailed, precise structure. This refined process delivers our signature uncoated Class-A finish and allows for better gas evacuation during the curing process, resulting in an even more uniform carbon structure with superior compaction.

The 400 C features our advanced hookless rim design, developed specifically for the demands of modern gravel riding. This design not only increases impact resistance by eliminating the traditional hook bead, but also creates a smoother tire-to-rim transition for improved aerodynamics. The wide, straight sidewalls provide excellent tire stability and better support for lower pressure tubeless setups.

Our carbon blade spokes provide two crucial benefits: significantly lower weight than steel spokes, and instant power transfer. Unlike steel spokes that elongate under force, carbon fiber's near-zero elongation means every watt of power goes directly into forward motion. This creates an incredibly responsive wheel that excels in both explosive accelerations and long-distance comfort.

Our hookless rim design increases impact resistance by eliminating the traditional hook bead, crucial for rough terrain. It also creates a smoother tire-to-rim transition for improved aerodynamics and provides better support for lower pressure tubeless setups typical in gravel riding.

The 400 C is optimized for gravel tires from 38mm to 50mm wide. The 25mm internal width provides excellent tire support and stability across this range, while maintaining optimal tire profile for both performance and comfort.

Yes, the 400 C is ideal for bikepacking adventures. Our filament winding technology creates an exceptionally strong rim structure, and the stiff carbon blade spokes handle the extra load while maintaining superior ride quality.

While the 400 C is optimized for gravel tires, it can accommodate road tires 32mm and wider. However, for primarily road use, we recommend our 360 C model which is specifically designed for road tire profiles.

The 400 C wheelset weighs 1320g (±15g) — light for a tubeless, hookless gravel wheel that's built to absorb impacts and carry bikepacking loads.
